The class is a full day and is designed to teach how to install the Power Partners Solar Water Heating System. The class includes a hands-on mock system installation where a system is put together and charged.
Class Objectives •An understanding of solar energy, its uses and how the Power Partners system captures this energy and stores it. •An understanding of the different types of solar thermal collectors, systems, and controls. •An understanding of how to evaluate and assess a customers site for installing a system, and how to size a system. •A classroom understanding of the safety issues related to installing the Power Partners system, how to install the collectors on different roof coverings, make the piping runs and connect the system to the tank and charge the system. •A hands-on demonstration of installing the system and charging it with fluid. |

Tony Purcell is the instructor for the training class. Tony is not only a green builder and licensed contractor in Athens, who specializes in renewable energy products such as solar water heating, he is also a LEED AP and is certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners as a certified Solar Thermal Installer. Tony has designed and installed multiple systems for different applications. Tony is a graduate of Georgia Tech with a bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree, and State University of West Georgia with a B.S. in Physics. |
